The Beginning
Back in 2017, we landed in Australia full of hopes and adventures - not housing headaches.
What we didn't expect: how hard housing would be.
Not the finding-a-place part. The in-between part.
Our Problem
When family visited for a month, we needed space.
When we went back to Europe for 4 weeks, our place sat empty (and we still paid rent).
When we tried to work remotely and travel around the country, Airbnb prices were brutal and lease terms didn't fit.
"We kept thinking: Someone else must need our place when we're away. And we'd love to find theirs."
The Gap We Found
But the options were:
- ✗Short-term rentals: Too expensive, too touristy
- ✗12-month leases: Too long, too inflexible
- ✗Subletting: Too dodgy, too stressful
So we'd squeeze family onto air mattresses.
Pay double rent. Miss opportunities.
The Moment It Clicked
Then it hit us: We're not alone in this.
